NBCS Costs Soar 40.2% Between 2020 and 2024—Where’s the Transparency on Future Spending?

Did you know? Between 2020 and 2024, the cost per student at New Boston Central School skyrocketed by 40.2%.

For comparison:

• Grocery prices increased by approximately 23%

• Inflation (Northeast CPI) climbed by approximately 20%

• MVMS cost per student for New Boston students rose by 19.1%

• GHS cost per student for New Boston students increased by 15.7%

The cost per student at New Boston Central School grew at more than twice the rate of MVMS and GHS over the same period.

Though inquired about during the Finance Committee School Budget Presentation, no data was provided at either that meeting or the New Boston School District Deliberative Session regarding the New Boston Central School cost per student projections for 2025 and 2026.
